IoT (Internet of Things) solutions to detect agricultural pests. It consists of the deployment of an interconnected network of electronic and intelligent devices-traps with the ability to determine unique characteristics of the insects attracted to them, such as flappingfrequency, flight speed and circadian cycle among other data and relate them toother environmental variables such as relative humidity, light, time, wind speed and air temperature to identify them.
This information is sent in real time via a data network to raise infestation alerts issued to farmers and the public and private agencies that manage surveillance and agricultural pestcontrol. The system provides a very efficient and economical tool to increase productivity in the efforts to take appropriate measures to prevent major damage on crops before the presence of pest infestation gets out of control.
